Major activities
Atlantis Co., Ltd. is a proud member of the Icelandic Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ISCCJ), and has a member on its board of directors. The combined seafood experience of AJ staff spans well over 100 years, and is one of the major pillars of strength the office provides its customers, suppliers and investors.
Our markets
Our products utilize the very efficient distribution system of Japan, reaching every corner of the country through various fish markets, wholesalers, supermarkets, and restaurant chains. Atlantis Co., Ltd. also exports domestic Japanese catch to neighboring countries.
The Team
- Yuji Wakasa – Sales manager. Not only is Yuji a veteran of the industry, but is actually a licenced blow fish chef. Significant experience of salmon and trout business internationally.
- Hideo Shimizu – Sales Representative. Expert on Tuna farming, harvesting, procecessing and logistics.
- Arni Pall Einarsson – Managing Director. Graduated from Commercial College of Iceland 1993. Started studying Japanese in Northern Arizona University and graduated with honors with a degree in International Affairs and Minor in Asian Studies 1994-1996. Originally came to Japan in 1998 for Graduate School and completed a Masters degree in Economics 2001. Started working for SIF Tokyo office in 2000 and joined Atlantis in January 2003.
- Kazuharu Watanabe – Inspector. Has well over 10 years experience of tuna grading and tuna business.
- In addition to the above AJ also has a very skilled and professional back office staff, which handles everything from the point a shipment is delivered abroad to final delivery to a happy customer.
Being a part of the Atlantis Group HF network helps our group accomplish marketing and sales targets, otherwise difficult. By having our own production units, and other sales offices to cooperate with, AJ can get better terms on various business transactions that help us surpass the competition.
